Water Politics again!!

This is not another Kaveri related issue, this has its roots in something far more close to our livelihood...the Corporate world!
It was at around 2pm on a sultry saturday afternoon that someone sitting in front of me at tuition asked around for water...I promptly supplied him with my bottle. As he was about to take a sip what happened next shocked me!!
A woman's voice from the background stopped him from the heinous faux pas he was about to commit. He was about to drink from an Ernst & Young bottle. He is from PWC.
I shudder to think of the consequences if the sip had been taken.

Satan drinking from the proverbial cup of Christ or Jesus taking a dip in the pit??
Well, that depends on which side of the fence you are sitting on...

Clubbed...

A great evening has just come to end...well its 4:15 in the morning so I should say night has come to an end.
Good morning to all of India. While rest of India sleeps my brother is on his way back from the disc...I had been with him till 1.30 am but had to head back home. His birthday is on sunday and I couldnt see a better gift for him than to be spending it with some of the finest people I have met in Delhi. That is a lot coming from me because generally am sadistic n pessimistic.
Poo,Suvi,Mandakini,Kanishk,Madhu-Sudipto(they have been joined in holy matrimony, who am I to separate them!) and the rest,Thank You for a great evening!!
I danced after many months, sipped champagne, had small albeit entertaining conversations and went back home elated.
It has been I guess 5 years since I stayed up all night but partyin and then blogging kinda makes it worth it!!
Had tried to invite some of my friends to this celebration of sorts...good they didn't turn up...now I have an even lower opinion of them than I did in the first place!!Talk about spoil sports!!

Dunno why I have always had such low opinion of all my friends, maybe being close to anyone just makes me realize thru experience what a piece of work they really are!!

And hats off to Robs...being so much elder to me he has never made me feel the age difference...calling me n mah parents..his too of course...to the disc was just one out of million ways he shows us and the World what he truly is.

Well he is on his way back. Before anyone realizes I was up...I gotta go off to sleep...strange isnt it??
But before you call me strange look at urself buddy.
Goodnight...goodmorning...godspeed!

Just a thought..

Its now almost 2am.Thought I'd update the blog tonight about what's been happening in my life.Well its totally uneventful.Everyday is the same here.I have always tried to taste the proverbial flavour of life but all I get is the stale taste of everyday. One day seldom differs in its final meaning even though the path it takes may differ.
People here in Delhi work very hard and party even harder. Working till late hours of the day and even going to office on weekends has become a must.If here you are a professional and yet you happen to reach home everyday by,say, eight in the evening then either you are not doing very well in your job or you are one of those people who have decided to take things easy in life.Life is at such a rushed pace here in the city that its a crime to have one.
Of course there are those smart ones who say they work five or six days and the weekends they spend in their favourite disc followed by sleeping late.To them all I say is Erich Fromm was right in feeling that the past may have held a frightful proposition that we shall become slaves yet the future holds the danger that we shall become robots. Of all the people who have actually got into this routine of sleeping late on weekends and partying till late, how many of you actually enjoy what you do?Doesnt the coming of the weekend bring unwanted pressures of finding something fun to do?Seems to me that people here are stuck with an idea of what fun is and not what is actually fun for them.I have met women who must go shopping on weekends because they have done so for their whole adult life in the city.Guys will go through the trouble of gulping down 'shots' and 'pints' because thats what 'we' do on weekends. As time goes by are we becoming more open minded and free or more opressed and time bound?
Well more of this another time...goodnite world..I'll leave you all to battle my insomnia..you know something interesting my friend said once...insomnia is what you get when you have a conscience.

Javed Zaidi

He was a good man. This was not what good men of this world deserve. Robbed from us through a road accident at the prime of his life.

I knew him but little, yet from what I know of him I feel his passing was not given the importance it deserves...but of course very few knew him.He had no pomp or splendor..he was known as that little man who is so helpful.
How can little helpful men be remembered in this World of giants?

All I remember of him was the way he pushed himself and all his men towards achieving something extraordinary quite ordinarily. He had helped me out a few months ago when I was faced with a situation on an assignment. He helped without asking who or why..he helped because he was Javed Zaidi.

Hats off to you Sir,you WILL be remembered.
